After my last system update (using update manager), the default system
image (3.5.0-24) does not boot.
I passed though GRUB but after that everything stopped. If I boot the
system with linux version 3.5.0-23 it works fine. When I look in the
syslog, the crashed boot isn't logged. I guess the kernel contains an
error. Nothing went wrong in the installation. I'm using a Lenovo
ideapad U350 and Ubuntu 12.10.
sudo dpkg-reconfigure linux-image-3.5.0-24-generic
did not solve the problem.

Expected behavior:
The system boots.
Observed behavior:
The system hangs completely after grub. No trace of the boot in
/var/log/syslog.
Workaround:
Choose the previous system image (3.5.0-23-generic) in grub.
I hope you can help. I have really no clue how to debug this further.
