I tried restarting samba in a terminal window. The error messages
seemed to be familiar, like they came from the smb.conf file. Here are
the results:

Unknown parameter encountered: "max log size"
Ignoring unknown parameter "max log size"
Unknown parameter encountered: "syslog only"
Ignoring unknown parameter "syslog only"
Unknown parameter encountered: "syslog"

Unknown parameter encountered: "guest ok"

Not sure why, but Samba doesn't seem to recognize a lot of the
parameters in the smb.conf file. Does the install program run samba
when its done?
