You have been subscribed to a public bug:
When entering a character in Nautilus / Files 3.6.3 it immediately switches to
the search-function and displays sub-files/folders that contain the entered
string.
This is very annoying; lately I intended to copy a new theme-file in the
.theme folder of home-directory so I opened nautilus and hit ctrl+h, entered
.them follow by return. Unfortunately, by this I opened a sub-folder of another
program with the same name and then was wondering why the new theme could not
be found.
I really would like to have the old behavior back - it's much more productive.
Especially because the "global" search function has its separate button and can
easily by accessed when needed.
So is this a bug or a not well implemented feature?
