(sorry, the other coment was confusing) I am having this issue too. I am using ubuntu 12.04.1 and with intel HD3000 and ati 5400 series i am having random black screens but surprisingly, i am not having when i install FGLRX and disable the intel one. i download ubuntu 12.04.1 and only have that bug only after install the updates and restart.
