I did some further tests and I can say it's not only a timing issue. I've chagned the grub config and put a # before GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT in /etc/default/grub
now every time the menu is shown, but auto-boot fails. then I raised the timeout from 2 to 7 secodnds, but booting fails. the next test I didn't change anything, but when the menu appeared I pressed enter to boot the default option instead of letting the 7 seconds pass. booting *worked*!!! seems it needs my input to get things done :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1172447 Title: AMD video card in my Dell Studio 1557 doesn't work correctly after upgrading to 13.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1172447/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
