Hi!

Where exactly do you have the problem...Is it after installing Ubuntu onto
the Inspiron Hard drive.?
If yes make sure that the Ubuntu partition is "PRIMARY" NOT logical or it
will get stuck while booting with the ERROR in the post
Rule for GRUB....Install it on the Ubuntu partition...if U got a Windows OS
as well installed....make the Windows Bootloader in the Windows partition to
give you the Linux boot option when the computer first boots up...that way U
can get to GRUB boot options and then get Ubuntu to boot up from your
computer's Hard Drive...Good Luck!
