Please uninstall the "hal" package, it has been deprecated for years
(but that's not the bug here, it's just causing those "failed to execute
'/lib/udev/socket" messages).
Do you have pam_systemd in /etc/pam.d/common-auth now? What's the output
of
dpkg -l | grep systemd
?
