Dear Phillip Susi After an automatic update i restarted my laptop, which is now unable to boot: Error message:
error: file '/boot/grub/i386/i386-pc/normal.mod' not found grubrescue> ******************************** I tried to run the boot repair disk, but without success. boot repair detects EFI, and asks me to change to EFI boot, but unfortunately I can't boot from a CD when starting in EFI mode. I therefore have to switch to "legacy mode", which seems to be an additional DELL option, which allows me to start from CD/DVD. Although EFI mode is still enabled in the BIOS settings, the laptop starts in 'legacy mode'. same Error as described above after boot repair.
