My instinct was to call the standalone activity-log-manager "Ubuntu
Privacy" to distinguish it from the Privacy panel built-in to GNOME
Settings 3.8. I don't know what you should do for other distros though.

There are advantages and disadvantages to using the same icon. Using the same
icon is easier for theme developers. It would be like an extension to the icon
naming spec:
http://standards.freedesktop.org/icon-naming-spec/icon-naming-spec-latest.html#names

On the other hand, using the same icon isn't good for branding but
activity-log-manager doesn't really brand itself currently.
