Ok, I can accept that you may need to drive the xfer at a higher frequency than what naturally occurs on becoming idling, and so the pushing data from the event makes sense. However, the readibility of your buffer_available() fd is only checked at the same frequency as the blockhandler is being run, so you don't see any benefit...
