Oh oops, I was being blind. I agree that the different dependency
versions there are odd. It looks like they come from
libav/debian/rules:
SHLIBS_VERSION := $(EPOCH)0.8.3-1~
…
for pkg in $(LIB_PKGS2); do \
upkg=$$(echo "$$pkg" | sed -r 's/([0-9]+)$$/-extra-\1/'); \
dh_makeshlibs -p"$$pkg" -V"$$pkg (>= $(SHLIBS_VERSION)) | $$upkg
(>= $(EPOCH)$(UPSTREAM_VERSION))"; \
done
I’m not sure why the second half doesn’t also use $(SHLIBS_VERSION).
