@dinky : officially, dell only support 12.04 LTS at the moment. Stick with it if you want a better experience and don't want to live dangerously ;-)
Windows also have a bunch of bugs, you need to acknowledge that, but you don't know about them because it is not open. With ubuntu (more generally, linux), I have these little hardware minor issues, but I frequently have a uptime of more than 15 days. I never achieve that with windows. Using Linux need an adaptation. You leave a rather policed world to step into the world of Freedom. You won't regret it, I tell you, but this needs a bit of adaptation I guess. Note that there is a workaround to this.
