Binary package hint: blender
Ubuntu 7.10, installed from Tribe 3 alternative CD.
Set 'System > Preferences > Appearance > Desktop Effects' to 'Normal
Effects' or 'Extra Effects' and start Blender. Same behaviour for Google
Earth.
My system logs me out and restarts X.
