I was instructed to test the latest development release (14.04) to determine whether a bug (soft lockup bug), which still exists in 12.04 LTS, is in the development release and/or the mainline kernel for the development release.
My tests suggest that the bug is fixed in 14.04 (the development release) and in the mainline kernel for the development release. The fix is to be applied (backported; if I understand the meaning of "backport") to the LTS version - 12.04 LTS. The bug, as reported, is valid, and has existed on this system for more than a year. The test is not conclusive, but, after 540 suspend/resumes it can be tentatively assumed that the bug no longer exists in the development release (14.04) or the mainline kernel for the development release. The bug would certainly show up in 12.04 after 540 suspend/resumes. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1036456 Title: [Fujitsu LIFEBOOK AH530] BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 22s!
