This is not a duplicate of bug #1242112 which is related to cairo dock.
I have no cairo dock installed and Shutdown, Log Out and Restart fail to
work in Unity for me, administrator. Other users and guest account can
normally shut down. I have also Xfce installed and when I use it instead
of Unity, there are no problems to log out or shut down.
