Thanks for the reply and help on this matter,
the only reason i reported it as a security risk was that it came up as a
security risk popup fix, like you said it didn't seem like a threat.... just an
old driver or out of date cpu.
I have removed the install (ubuntu desktop) and will be replacing it
with one suitable for my laptop...

pretty much out of date i think :(
have you any advice on what LTS install i should use: eg the 12.04 you
suggested... or an earlier one.
