I could myself fix the problem in the code, and recompile the binary. Simply, there is no callback action defined for ALT n . An effective fix in lxterminal.h is to change PREVIOUS and NEXT TAB ACCEL from CTRL PageUp down to <ALT>1 <ALT>2 . Result is that I can swith to next and previous tabs with alt 1 and alt 2, and not with control pageup down which are good only for monkeys.
