Fabian Wehning, thank you for your comments. Unfortunately, the
instructions aren't infallible, in that it doesn't take into account if
you cannot boot into the mainline kernel. Unfortunately, while your post
at http://marc.info/?l=linux-acpi&m=138749001928688&w=2 does at least
have the suspected regression commit information, it could be more
informative for a developer to fix the issue. Instead of doing all the
steps in the mainline kernel, you could do it in the Ubuntu kernel, and
just make it known you couldn't provide the information on the mainline
kernel but it's reproducible with it.
