Now running Linux Mint 16, problem still exist.

Here's the latest step-by-step instructions on how to fix it.

sudo apt-get install bzr libgtk-3-dev binutils build-essential m4 autogen bison 
flex
sudo apt-get install g++
bzr branch lp:~diwic/+junk/hda-jack-retask
make
./hda-jack-retask
Check the Override checkbox in "Green Headphone, Front side" and choose "Not 
connected" in the drop-down.
Click Install boot override and reboot.
