Chris, downloading an .iso with the slow EDGE Inet connection available here in rural India is not feasible. Would running apport with the current Ubuntu version and the new BIOS be helpful? I can probably update the kernel to the latest upstream kernel if that would be useful too, though the 3.8.0-35 kernel now in the system was only made available as an auto-upgrade a few days ago.
