2013-12-16 16:21:59 CET FATAL: could not remove old lock file
"/var/run/postgresql/.s.PGSQL.5432.lock": Permission denied
2013-12-16 16:21:59 CET HINT: The file seems accidentally left over, but it
could not be removed. Please remove the file by hand and try again.

Did you change the permissions on /var/run/postgresql/ ? Please give me
the output of

  ls -l /var/run/postgresql/

although it's probably moot now since you most probably restarted your
machine since Dec 16.

** Summary changed:

- package postgresql-9.1 9.1.11-0ubuntu0.13.10 failed to install/upgrade:
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
+ package postgresql-9.1 9.1.11-0ubuntu0.13.10 failed to install/upgrade:
/var/run/postgresql/.s.PGSQL.5432.lock: Permission denied

** Changed in: postgresql-9.1 (Ubuntu)
       Status: Confirmed => Incomplete
