So, fixing this in ubuntu-keyboard is a bit more complicated and
problematic - and would have a lot implications. The very design of pre-
edit (as with word propositions) is not to commit the string to the
entry field until it's finished. We would have to change this rule and
actually commit all the time and then try to 'edit' the text field when
in pre-edit, which seems strange.
I prepared a fix for messaging-app instead that flushes the pre-edit
before sending the SMS. Seems a better, less invasive approach.
