Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz
Whenever an opengl app is run under a compositioning window manager, it screws up, going all glitchy and flickery, as shown in a blog here - http://hoegsberg.blogspot.com/2007/08/redirected-direct-rendering.html . I believe this is a BIG blocker for the composite by default, as many desktop apps use opengl for little things, such as the visualizations in amarok, and it really doesn't look pretty. There is a workaround in the blog post, but i don't know how hard it is to implement, as it seems to involve some deep changes to the x server and driver. By the way, im running on an intel GMA 950. ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Glitchy opengl apps https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/134737 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
