This is a regression from kernel 3.12 and 3.13 onwards (i can't reproduce the 'failed to get NCQ Send/Recv Log Emask 0x1' in kernel 3.11 on samsung 840 ssd). I think those ncq changes upstream make some spotty ssd's firmware's go nuts, like samsung (which for example has ncq disabled for their macbook pcie-express ssd's). For the time being as a workaround you can either disable power saving on sata link, downgrade the kernel or disable ncq altogether. This has nothing to do with bios manufacturer afaik, because even disabling acpi or other aspm features still produces those errors. Maybe this has to be reopened, because that bug can cause data-loss in laptops (and pc's) and seems not to be vendor specific (i have an asus mobo for example).
