It looks like your disk was initially partitioned with a very old tool (
like winxp ) and the first partition starts on sector 63 instead of
sector 2048. This does not leave enough room for grub to be installed
there when you are using lvm. You will either need to either not use
lvm, or delete the existing partitions and start over, which should
leave plenty of room for grub.
