Because the ubuntu server install did not allow me to create GPT partitions, and configuring software RAID is also very cumbersome, I booted sysrescueCD first and used gdisk+mdadm. Then I installed Ubuntu on the RAID1 partitions. I get this error as well, and the fix in comment #34 fixes it.
I attached the fix as patch, which can be applied with the patch command. ** Patch added: "Patch to fix error." https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1274320/+attachment/4112354/+files/diskfilter-writes.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1274320 Title: Error: diskfilter writes are not supported To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/grub/+bug/1274320/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
