That issue recently got some tweaks:
- ppa (ppa:ealmdz/ppa) with gstreamer1.0 (archive:saucy ; can be used on other
releases)
- settings to move from the problematic 'trayicon' now ubuntu's
deprecated, to use 'appindicator' instead. Here is my
~/.local/share/radiotray/config.xml

Hopes the Utopic (at least) archive will be updated with these settings.
