I've fixed this in 14.10 by updating to 3.8.5 and proposed the patch for a stable release update in 14.04 LTS.
** Description changed: - System: Linux Mint 17 MATE Edition (based on Ubuntu 14.04) - Glib version: 2.40.0-2 - Glade version: 3.8.0-0ubuntu6 + [Impact] + glade-gtk2 crashes opening .glade files. This is due to a change in glib. This is fixed in the upstream glade project [1]. - When I've tried to open a file [1], Glade crashed. Upon further - investigation I've found an upstream commit [2] from Glade 3.8.4 which - fixes the crashes with Glib >= 2.37. I've backported this commit and - made a patch out of it. The patch is in the attachment. Dear - maintainers, please apply it. + [Test Case] + 1.
