I just started testing 3.17-rc7. It will take a couple of weeks to tell
if this bug is reproducible or not.  A symptom that is consistently
reproducible is that hibernation does not work, however I am not sure it
is related and the system does not let me file a bug report, saying that
"It appears you are currently running a mainline kernel. It would be
better to report this bug upstream at http://bugzilla.kernel.org/ so
that the upstream kernel developers are aware of the issue.  If you'd
still like to file a bug against the Ubuntu kernel, please boot with an
official Ubuntu kernel and re-file"
