I have followed the procedure to a point. The relevant area in the
dmesg is this:
[ 13.247188] Magic number: 7:771:857
[ 13.247277] hash matches device ptyv9
[ 13.247290] hash matches device ptysc
[ 13.247556] Freeing unused kernel memory: 364k freed
(leaving the "Freeing unused..." because it shows where the list ended)
The next part of the procedure would have me remove ptysc. I'm not sure
what that is, I think it's the new USB driver? In any case I suppose
it's compiled in and can't be removed ("lsmod" doesn't show any ptysc or
ptyv9). Is there a way to disable it? How to proceed?
** Attachment added: "output of dmesg > out.txt right after a reboot after a
failed suspend/wake cycle."
