Hello Peter, or anyone else affected, Accepted libappindicator into utopic-proposed. The package will build now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libappindicator/12.10.1+13.10.20130920-0ubuntu4.2 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.
