Have you by any chance installed (from source or something else) a different OpenOffice.org? I believe the problem is this symlink:
/usr/bin/openoffice -> ooo-wrapper which is pointing to the wrong executable. It should be: /usr/bin/openoffice -> ooffice I expect that changing the symlink will solve the problem, but I don't understand why you have got it in the first place.
