I've found this fixed in 3.12.32 and in 3.17.4 (no issues in 3.17.5 and
3.17.6 as well) in all kernels in between issues occured. I reported
more information on different kernels and different error messages
occuring when reproducing the issue on them on the same issue reported
by another person (Ubuntu guidelines discourage this sort of helpful
cross posting), but launchpad linking and search facilities are so bad,
that I don't have energy to compensate them now. @gazhay try > 3.17.4 or
3.12.x with x >= 32. Maybe 3.18.0 contains a regression again so that it
stopped working...
