Maarten Fonville, forum posts are largely unhelpful. As well, I have a radeon card and I don't have the problems mentioned here.
Despite this, I booted into the x64 (not 32-bit) daily live environment, immediately ran apport-collect against one of my bug reports, the terminal output responded asking me to install python-apport, which I did, ran it again and Firefox came up for a login to Launchpad.
