Sorry, I am not going to take a few hours out of my workday to test this issue, especially when coupled with the chance of bricking my machine with a live dev-release of the OS.
However, on a brighter note, the issue seems resolved for me with Ubuntu 14.04.2 using the 3.13.0-45-generic kernel. I discovered that the headset worked normally sometime this month.
