Well, OK. If you right-click on the desklet there should be a popup menu. In this menu there is a menu entry like "Edit source" or "View source" (this should be the third entry from the bottom of the popup menu). Selecting this menu entry brings up your favourite editor (which is gedit by default if you are using Gnome). And gedit tells you the name of and the path to the file in its window title.
