@Jens, No, no other changes are needed on the system. If you have the kernel command line modified in any way, especially acpi_osi options that might factor in. What kernel are you running? What OS version? Can you share your dmesg?
The current 3.19 kernel in 15.04 and BIOS A03 has everything that is needed to make this work properly. It will /not/ work if you switch back and forth with Windows.
