Remember similar stalling while booting in MacBook 2,1 issues predate the ubuntu 3.19 kernel. They are in 3.16 and previous I think also, just not as consistently or persistently as the in the 3.19. Would be nice for Ubuntu to figure this out and backport all supported kernels.
