I don't know if this is relevant - I have a very similar configuration to Paul (SZ77R5 with 32GB of RAM,i7-3770 instead of i7-3770K). His problem seems uncannily similar to the problem I have been having except that I am running Windows 8.1 (running VMs with VirtualBox). Attaching my screenshot.
I have been updating my Intel drivers as hey are released. The only thing that has changed unfortunately is the pattern on the screen. Could this be a hardware issue with the SZ77R5 motherboard? The Linux VESA drivers are working for you because the VESA driver is not taking advantage of all the features available in the Intel graphics processor? ** Attachment added: "Crash Picture" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1367825/+attachment/4428022/+files/IMG_20140430_135726.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1367825 Title: Intel i915 video driver causing random crashes on i7 Z77 system To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1367825/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
