No dice. Same graphics crash. I am now on 15.04 and the issues persist
unless I switch to VESA. Gareth, yes, I believe that using VESA bypasses
the GPU. What I find is that the heavier the memory use the more often
the crash. If I just browse the web or do simple tasks then the crash
doesn't happen as often. However if I spin up several VMs then I can
almost predict a crash will happen soon after. I wouldn't say it's like
clockwork, but it's generally very quick to come about.
