I think it's the same bug as https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gmusicbrowser/+bug/1401609 The crash doesn't happen all the time so that could expain why you think it only occurs when closing the window. Run it from a terminal to make sure, if it crashes after saving the gmbrc file, it's almost certainly this bug.
