I typically use 1280 x 720 resolution easier for me to read.
That's a resolution where after last week's update the screen is shifted left,
black margin on the right, and unity buttons fall off the left. Hide is off.
If I change to 1368 x 768 the unity buttons are visible.
The monitor will actually support 1920 x 1080 but I'd have to use a magnifying
glass.

Looks like X doesn't support resolutions it used to for this hardware.
Wily Display options in settings:
1920 x 1080
1360 x 768
1280 x 960
1280 x 720 my preferred for readability
1024 x 768
800 x 600

If I shift back to a Wily a month old works with that level kernel.
Looks like X + linux has dropped support of 1280 x 720.

BTW, at the moment this is 14.04 LTS. Runs great. I'll shift back to
doing battle with Wily later today.
