Thanks for taking the time to report this issue and help making Ubuntu
better.
I can confirm that xsnow 1:1.42-9 doesn't display anything when I
attempt to run it on Ubuntu 15.04 (or Wily). I tested under Unity.
Based on the other bug report (bug 153078), it looks like xsnow might
have problems with certain desktops, but I don't know this well enough
to assess whether this is a duplicate or not.
