The same happens with KUbuntu 15.10 Wily Werwolf. Plasma is very unstable. I tried to disable *all* Desktop Effects (System Settings; don't forget the "not supportet by compositor" and "internal" desktop effects!). So the plasmashell crashes occur only seldom. Mostly after manipulating widgets.
