powerpc-ibm-utils is in the minimal set, which should be installed in most/all cases. I agree that the naming is confusing, and I have a plan for the next Debian release and 16.04, if I have time, to migrate powerpc-utils to pmac-utils and powerpc-ibm-utils to powerpc-utils, so it matches the upstream name.
There will be a transitional package for one LTS->LTS cycle that pulls in both on powerpc/ppc64 (though, not on ppc64el) to make sure upgrades don't break anyone, but then we'll get to a more sane state. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1523627 Title: Powerpc-utils and powerpc-ibm-utils is confusing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/powerpc-ibm-utils/+bug/1523627/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
