When using the latest updates to Ubuntu 14.04 32-bit, the following
error occurs during installtion:
wget[6261]: segfault at b77b4d9d ip b73bda0d sp bfde2a40 error 7 in
libresolv-2.19.so[b73b4000+13000]
This happens after downloading libc6-udeb
(libc6-udeb_2.19-0ubuntu6.7_i386.udeb) during the installation - after
downloading this, future name resolutions fail (attempting to ping a DNS
name gives a similar segfault)
I would guess this is likely due to a fix for the recent security
vulnerability in glibc DNS resolution.
64-bit appears to be unaffected at present.
