We are somewhat behind Debian here and behind the latest stable release
of Unison as per upstream. I merged up that version and confirmed that
it does work with the new ncurses6 without exploding. However, it is
2.48.3 which being a minor version bump is incompatible with 2.40. That
said we reallly want to be on the latest stable for the LTS and the
compatibility issue will have to be dealt with somewhere.
