When I have compiz desktop effects enabled, opengl programs and games
like planet penguin racer, celestia and stellarium show rendering
artefacts. On ppracer, I have blinking black rectangles corresponding to
applet locations (top right and bottom right). Enabling, for example,
the system monitor applet with all stats enabled worsens the effect. The
same thing happens in stellarium. In Celestia, which is not a fullscreen
application, I have artefacts when I rotate earth, for example. All
these artefacts disappear when I disable desktop effects.
