Public bug reported:
This package hasn't been touched since 2003. I doubt it works with the
latest Java, and upstream appears to be dead. The packaging itself seems
to be rather janky as well.
I don't think we'll have many people complaining about its loss. If they
really need it for some obscure reason, it should be packaged in Debian.
