On 16.04 beta, doing the above just adds the error:

Error loading module 'res_agi.so': /usr/lib/asterisk/modules/res_agi.so:
undefined symbol: ast_speech_change

And with systemd, it just cycles round and round trying to start:

Apr  5 17:25:07 nigel-mate systemd[1]: Started Asterisk PBX.
